In 2003, former Philadephia detective – Tom Gaylord retired from the force and cashed his 401(k) to buy Lickety Split. The Lickety Split is located in the heart of south street, one of the largest tourist destinations in the U.S. Lickety Split quickly became a hot spot. But Tom’s 27 arduous years in law enforcement began to take a toll on him and rather than dealing with his issues, Tom turned to drinking. As the drinking and Tom’s behavior, getting out of control. He begins to treat his employee with no respect and customers repulsed by his inappropriate behavior. Tom is pretty much running this business into the ground.  

During the Bar Rescue makeover, Lickety Split was renamed to 2nd State Lounge and Alleged Bar & Pizza. Jon Taffer bring in Phil Wills, the expert mixologist to train the Lickety Split’s employee behind the bar. Wills teaches them the basic bartending techniques and specialty cocktails. Wills has created two new signature cocktails called “Pizza Marry” that is served in our specialty BarConic® 15 ounce Hurricane Glass and used the Bamboo Skewer to hold garnishes.  The second cocktail called “2nd State Punch”, this cocktail is served in our BarConic® 9oz Brandy Snifter Glass. All of the featured products that are used in this episode can be purchased at www.barproducts.com

­Pizza Mary

  • 1½ oz. Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka
  • 5 oz. Pizza sauce
  • 1 dash Worcestershire
  • 1 dash Tabasco
  • 3 dashes celery bitters
  • ½ oz. Fresh lemon juice
  • Garnish: Pizza skewer
  • Glass: BarConic® 15 ounce Hurricane Glass

*Shake with ice. Strain into a hurricane glass over ice. Garnish with cherry tomato, mozzarella cheese ball, basil, pepperoni, garlic knot.

2nd State Punch

  • 1½ oz. Captain Morgan White Rum
  • 1 oz. Pineapple juice
  • 1 oz. Sour
  • ½ oz. Grenadine
  • Topped with soda
  • Garnish:  Pineapple slice, pineapple leaf
  • Glass: BarConic® 9oz Brandy Snifter Glass

*Shake with ice. Strain over ice into a snifter. Garnish with pineapple slice, pineapple leaf. Top grenadine. Garnish.
