Portraits from the Bar

Jill DeGroff is a New York based artist who has made the streets and bars of cities around the world her "studio". She has been drawing caricatures all of her life, while also working as a graphic designer, and traveling with her husband, James Beard award - winning mixologist and author, Dale DeGroff. Departing from tradition, Jill steers clear of luminaries and portrays instead, the artists, bartenders, musicians, gypsies, and other nocturnal souls, drawing inspiration from masters like Art Speigelman, Al Hirchfeld, and Otto Dix.

Her portraits have appeared in Theme Magazine, (UK), Mixology and Bar Magazines in Berlin and Slovakia, My Table, Beverage Media, and Imbibe (USA).
