Bar Rescue - Bromancing the Stone (S4, E15)

Hot Rock Bar & Grill (Sandbar Sports Grill) – Coconut Grove, Florida

Jon visits an outdated college sports bar with an owner who is more interested in managing his fantasy football team than running a business.

Albert Borrero, bought the University of Miami hot spot Sandbar Sports Grill in 2007. During the early years of business, Sanbar continued to be the top night light spot for 21 and older local college students. However, in 2010 the local city council established legislation to drive out the late-night rowdy crowd. Despite slower business in 2013, Albert’s friend and experienced restaurateur, Matt Gentile, bought into Sandbar. Matt offered up some great ideas, however the bar still had a reputation as being a college bar. Now, Sandbar fails to attract Coconut Grove’s refined demographic.

The Sandbar Sport Gills is definitely outdated collage sports bar and not hitting the demographic. In order to turn the bar round, Taffer needs to get Matt and Albert to start working together managing the sfaff and the business. In this episod, Jon Taffer brought in the Mixology expert, Mia Mastroianni to help training the Sandbar Sport Grill's employee behind the bar. Mia has created new signature cocktail recipes called “Hot Rock Sunset” and “The Citrustini” by serving and using our BarConic® Glassware and other bar tending tools such as cocktail shaker, strainer, mixing glass, condiment holder, straws, cocktail picks and more to create these amazing cocktails.
